I “acquired” Lauren and Gwilym from another wedding planner. It was an unusual situation, particularly as the couple (though both British) lived in NYC, so other than a few Skype calls we didn’t actually meet until the wedding day itself.
I’m not sure there are enough words in the English language for me to express how happy I was to have taken over the wedding of this totally gorgeous, affable, funny and much-loved pair. Their wedding day took place the day before New Years Eve at the incredible Elmore Court in Gloucestershire. It was a venue I hadn’t worked at in a part of the country I wasn’t hugely familiar with… but I’d return in a heartbeat. A family home (and I by “home” I mean “country manor”) that becomes yours for 24 hours- complete with on site accommodation for you and many of your guests, handsome grounds, a large Hall to host your ceremony, several large reception rooms with log fires, and a vast, impressive, eco-friendly reception space to hold your wedding breakfast and party.
When I came on board with this project, Lauren and Gwilym really only had their venue and photographer booked, so I got to have all the fun creating a Design Scheme and bringing the look to life. It became a laid-back luxe, magical winter celebration, with bohemian touches and an abundance of incredible florals courtesy of Esther from Rebel & The Rose.
The whole day was wonderful. Honestly, I could look at Lauren’s beautiful smile all day. This was a couple who were literally on Cloud Nine. Want to see?
